Since it is coming up to Christmas and all, thought I’d get a bit festive too ^^
So I was testing out my new camera, messing around in photoshop, and while I have no models at my disposal, I have a cat.
Charcoal of chestnut husks and a twig
Tonal Charcoal of dragonfruit
Just got Corel Painter 12 & Photoshop CS5. Messing about & trying to get used to them. This was done in Painter, I prefer the brush engine in this program, as opposed to CS5. Still not on top of my game with either yet :L I find CS5 is easier/better for editing photography like the photo I posted below of my sister. Probably will get CS6 soon.
A couple of years ago I took this shot trying to get a picture like the Trudi Cavanan book from “The Black Magician Trilogy”. Have a shot exactly like the cover but then I took this and the quality is better. It is super edited thought from Paintshop Pro 7, Photoscape and now CS5.
So, I have this draft for a story in mind(tied to one I did years ago)and had this idea that;
"Statues originally were not carved by man purely from imagination. Some visionaries could actually see strange beings trapped in the stone, some of these thing had the likeness of the races on the land, some represented otherworldly things not witnessed on this plain. For humans and even the tallest of the races at ten feet, these frozen giants loomed over menacingly by comparison. These people who saw the creatures became Sculpturs and communicated to the life inside the stone.* Those who could see the beasts inside the rock carved out their likeness so that the people who could only see stone for stone could share the sculptur’s vision."
This painting started out as that, but then I decided fire’s easier and quicker to paint :L
Just a very quick painting of Maleficent, as seen in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. Prepare yourselves, as this queen of evil will be everywhere after Angelina Jolie’s performance in her role’s self-titled film.
Just a painting depicting a figure(supposed to be an injured male…but the soften tool said otherwise) showering in the fall, and a girl who happens to see him. Did this purely for practising detail work, and landscapes, and to do a nature scene. Sorry if the colour is skew-ways, I adjusted my monitor settings so they are blindingly bright… :L
If the detail work looks ruddy shoddy-I just want to be be finished with this piece so I can start a new picture :L
and with that;
Voila, an original digital painting
P.S. I don’t own that JRR Tolkien logo at all, I just thought it would look kinda cool engraved on the rock face…
It’s Spock, painted by moi (kinda)as seen in “Star Trek: The Animated Series”, and eh, well, I’ll let you decide what you think he’s doing.
